the text on all these sections is being reworked so some shit sounds weird. it will take me a while

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. Originally a Shōnen manga from 1987 to 2004, it switched to the monthly seinen manga in 2005. The series is so far divided into a total of nine story arcs, each following a new protagonist bearing the "JoJo" nickname. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is currently the largest ongoing manga series published by Shueisha.

Over it's lifespan JoJo's has had numerous animations, the first adaptation coming in 1993 by APPP, which focused on the 3rd part of the series, Stardust Crusaders. The series consisted of 13 episodes and ran up till 2002. The same studio later created a film adapting the first part, Phantom Blood which released in theaters in Japan in 2007. The film was only ever seen in Japanese theaters and was never showcased or released again after that, meaning the film is ultimately lost media at this point, however it is not fully lost as there are screencaps and small bits of the movie avaliable to find online and on Youtube, which you can find yourself. There is a partial reconstruction of the movie on Youtube however it's unknown if the entire film will ever be avaliable to the public.

Finally in October 2012, the studio David Productions began to work on an anime for JJBA, and released the first 2 parts, Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency, as one season. The studio has continued to produce 4 other parts, Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable, Golden Wind and Stone Ocean, consisting of 5 seasons in total, with the 7th part, Steel Ball Run, much anticipated to release.

JoJo's is well-known for its art style and unique poses, references to popular western music and fashion and influence on meme culture in the 2010's. Despite being around for so long, it is only until the anime adaptation in 2012 did the series finally make it's big break in the western world, while also being extremely influential and popular in it's home country of Japan. JoJo's is one of the best selling manga series in history, creating a media franchise including video games, light novels, one shot mangas and more.

I first discovered JoJo's Bizarre Adventure via an old friend who had recently finished the series and wanted me to watch it. My only exposure thus far to JoJo's was of course its plethora of memes, specifically the "To Be Continued" meme, and my overall thought of it at the time was buff gay men and I am not joking.

Eventually I watched it circa somewhere in 2019 (around the same time the Part 5 anime finished airing!) and quickly became very obsessed. I like many others sort of slugged through Phantom Blood (but I liked Dio a lot, and have recently come to appreciate Phantom Blood as a part and I like it a lot more now) and then continued with Battle Tendency which quickly pushed my loving of JoJo's.

Joseph was among the first Jojo which I fell in love with until Part 3 came along. Jotaro quite literally changed my life as a person, how I see myself and helped me define who I am. In short, JoJo's has impacted and effected my life in so many different ways and I truly believe I wouldn't be who I am today without it, it helped me make many different friendships and relationships that have since impacted my life and defined who I am, it helped me make so many different connections and helped me even see the way stories are written in a different light.
